Acceptable Use Policy

This policy outlines the rules for using HostBilby services including Shared Web Hosting, VPS, VDS, Dedicated Servers and Domain Services. By using our services you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations of this AUP may result in service suspension or termination. HostBilby Inc.'s interpretation is final in violation cases.

Service Specific Guidelines & Restrictions

Shared Web Hosting

Prohibited:

• Malware, phishing or hacking tools
• Media streaming, CDN, file storage or file distribution
• Bulk email sending and spam services

Allowed: Personal and business websites, blogs, portfolios, online stores and CMS platforms such as WordPress and Joomla.

Virtual Private Servers (VPS)

Prohibited:

• Illegal content (piracy, CSAM, fraud, terrorism, pornography)
• Commercial VPN, proxy or CDN services
• DDoS attacks and botnets
• Cryptocurrency mining
• Tor exit nodes
• Spam and mass mailing
• Game servers

Allowed: Personal VPN usage and moderate resource-intensive tasks.

Virtual Dedicated Servers & Dedicated Servers

Prohibited: Same as VPS restrictions listed above.

Allowed: 100% CPU usage 24/7 and personal VPN use for home or mobile networks.

General Prohibited Uses (All Services)

Malicious or Harmful Activities

Includes cyber threats, DDoS attacks, phishing, credential theft and operating public anonymity infrastructure.

Illegal or Unlawful Content & Activities

• Distribution of copyrighted material
• Fraud and identity theft facilitation
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Terrorism-related content
• Other illegal activities per applicable law

Enforcement: Violations will result in immediate termination without refund. Data will be wiped and destroyed immediately.

Unsolicited Communications

• Spam and bulk emails
• Mass messaging platforms
• Mail relays and marketing services

Violations result in immediate termination and a permanent ban from our services.

Excessive Resource Consumption

Degrading shared infrastructure through overutilization is prohibited. Unintentional overuse may result in temporary suspension with communication.

Enforcement & Handling Violations

Immediate Termination Cases

For severe violations: service shutdown, permanent data removal, account ban and cooperation with legal authorities.

Resolvable Issues

1. Support notification explaining the violation
2. 24-hour correction period
3. Service suspension during resolution
4. Permanent termination if unresolved (no refund)
